Private 5-Day Arctic Experience | Up to 4 Guests | November–December

Arctic Whales & Northern Lights

Experience whales, dramatic fjords, Arctic winter landscapes and the Northern Lights in one of Northern Norway’s peaceful coastal communities.

Our private package includes two dedicated whale watching days at sea, accommodation, full board, airport transfers and one flexible Arctic Experience Day.

The programme is planned around the weather, sea conditions and current whale activity, allowing us to choose the best available days for going to sea.

For larger groups, we will prepare an individual programme and price.

During Your Stay

Day 1 – Arrival in Øksfjord

Pickup from Alta Airport and transfer to Øksfjord.

After check-in, you have time to settle in, explore the surroundings and enjoy a relaxed first evening. Dinner is included.

On clear evenings, you may also have the chance to see the Northern Lights.

Two of these days are dedicated to whale watching at sea.

The exact days are selected according to weather, sea conditions and whale activity.

The remaining day is kept flexible and may include dogsledding, exploring the local nature, a winter walk, photography, sightseeing or simply free time to enjoy Øksfjord.

It also acts as a reserve day if a whale watching trip needs to be moved because of weather.

Breakfast, check-out and transfer back to Alta Airport.

The exact order of the activities is flexible and may be adjusted during the trip to make the best possible use of the weather, snow and mountain conditions.

Arctic Winter & Northern Lights

Øksfjord is surrounded by steep mountains, fjords and Arctic wilderness.

During November and December, the Polar Night creates beautiful blue, pink and purple winter light across the landscape.

On clear evenings, the Northern Lights may also be visible directly from the Øksfjord area.

The Aurora Borealis is a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed.

Whale Watching

The waters around Øksfjord offer the opportunity to experience whales and other Arctic wildlife surrounded by fjords and snow-covered mountains.

Depending on current wildlife activity, you may see:

– Orcas
– Humpback whales
– Porpoises
– Sea eagles
– Arctic seabirds

Whales are wild animals and sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Our small private-group format allows us to adapt both the timing and route of each trip to the conditions.

Our boats

Depending on the planned route, weather and sea conditions, we use one of our two boats.

Arvor 250AS

A spacious *8.3-metre cabin boat* with a diesel engine, enclosed wheelhouse and navigation equipment.

The protected cabin makes it particularly suitable for longer trips and colder Arctic conditions.

Kværnø 680 HT

A fast and stable *6.8-metre aluminium boat* powered by a *300 HP Yamaha V6*.

Its speed and manoeuvrability make it ideal for reaching different areas quickly and for trips closer to Øksfjord.

The most suitable boat is selected for each trip according to the destination and conditions.
